(NASDAQ: ERTS) today announced the track list that will propel players to the finish line in Need for Speed™ SHIFT when it hits retail stores in North America on September 15 (in stores across Europe on September 17, 2009). The SHIFT soundtrack features some of today’s most influential hip hop and rock artists including Kanye West, The Prodigy, Kasabian, and MSTRKRFT. Each song was hand selected to provide a pounding score that matches the intensity and bone-crushing power of this year’s Need for Speed.

The game has already received several positive reviews including one from Official Xbox Magazine which referred to Need for Speed SHIFT as a “brilliant turn in a new direction” and “deep and addictive.”

“Intense music has always fueled the sound of Need For Speed,” said Steve Schnur, Worldwide Executive of Music and Music Marketing at EA. “For SHIFT, we truly went underground to bring together some of the edgiest new tracks in electronic music, hip-hop and rock from around the world. The Epic Journey through Hell Features a Dramatic Original Score from Heralded Film, Television and Video Game Composer

Redwood City, Calif. – September 9, 2009 – Visceral Games™, the developers behind the critically-acclaimed Dead Space™ franchise and a studio of Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS), announced today that award-winning film, television and video game composer Garry Schyman will be creating the hellish score for the highly anticipated 3rd person action adventure game Dante’s Inferno™.  The renowned composer, who won many prestigious awards most recently for his work on BioShock, is creating a dramatic score that sets the tone for Visceral Games’ adaptation of Dante Alighieri’s epic poem.

“Our primary goal with this project is to bring Dante Alighieri’s vision of hell to a new audience and a new medium, and that goes beyond the visuals,” said Jonathan Knight, executive producer of Dante’s Inferno. “The sound and music are equally critical to the experience, and Garry’s epic score will add layers of power and tension, as gamers descend through the nine circles of hell.  We are incredibly fortunate to be working with talent of his caliber.”

“Scoring Dante’s Inferno was one of the most interesting and challenging projects I have ever tackled,” said Garry Schyman.  “Literally being asked to score hell was fantastic especially once I saw the surrealistically frightening world that Visceral Games had developed.  I thought long and hard about every piece of music I wrote to create something new, surprising and fitting.   It has turned out to be one of the most creative experiences in my career.”

The orchestral score and chorus were recorded in July at the historic Abbey Road Studios in London with the Philharmonia Orchestra and the Metro Voices Singers.  The score soundtrack is planned for release in early 2010.

In Dante’s Inferno, players will assume the role of Dante as he travels on an epic descent through Dante Alighieri’s nine circles of hell – limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, anger, heresy, violence, fraud and treachery. Each circle features unique environments, all new creatures and demons, specific story elements, and are scored distinctly to set a tone that fits each circle of sinners. The blockbuster video game adaptation of part one of Alighieri’s epic poem “The Divine Comedy” will be available in North America beginning on February 9, 2010 and in Europe on February 12, 2010 for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system, the PLAYSTATION®3 computer and entertainment system and the Sony PlayStation® Portable (PSP®).

TALKING HEADS OFFER UP FIVE TRACKS FOR ROCK BAND

Cambridge, Mass. – Aug. 28, 2009 – Harmonix and MTV Games today announced that a five pack of songs from new wave rockers Talking Heads, as well as singles from Avenged Sevenfold, The Jam, Oasis and Rage Against the Machine will be available in the Rock Band Music Store of downloadable content next week for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system.

Additional tracks from Tom Petty, Billy Idol, Fleetwood Mac and Judas Priest will be available in the Wii™ Rock Band Music Store bringing the number of downloadable tracks for Wii to 647, and tracks from Guns N’ Roses and Franz Ferdinand will be available for download for Rock Band Unplugged on PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system.

Rock Band DLC Additions for Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 System

Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Talking Heads add an additional five downloadable tracks to Rock Band, joining the already available “Psycho Killer.” The five-pack spans a good deal of Talking Heads’ career, including “Take Me to the River” from the band’s second album, More Songs About Buildings and Food; “Crosseyed & Painless” and “Once in a Lifetime” from the band’s fourth studio album, Remain in Light; “Girlfriend is Better” from the band’s fifth album, Speaking in Tongues; and “And She Was” from the band’s sixth album, Little Creatures. Additionally, singles from Avenged Sevenfold, The Jam, Oasis and Rage Against the Machine will be available in the Rock Band Music Store next week.

Wii Additions

American rocker Tom Petty breaks onto Rock Band for Wii next week with two of his biggest solo hits, “I Won’t Back Down” and “Runnin’ Down a Dream,” both from his 5x platinum 1989 album, Full Moon Fever. This was Petty’s first solo album, after parting with The Heartbreakers; it reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200. Classic rockers Fleetwood Mac and English rocker Billy Idol return to Rock Band, as well as Australian rockers Jet with, “She’s a Genius,” from the band’s new album, Shaka Rock, which hit shelves Aug. 25. Back-catalog tracks from Judas Priest and The Pretenders will also be available in the Wii Rock Band Music Store next week. These tracks come from the catalog of Rock Band music already released to owners of Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 system. With the addition of these tracks, there are now more than 647 tracks in the Wii Rock Band Music Store.

Rock Band 2 is available for Xbox 360, PLAYSTATION 3 system, PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and Wii system. Xbox 360, PLAYSTATION 3 system and Wii versions support downloadable content.

Downloadable content for Wii is purchased via the in-game Rock Band Music Store using Wii Points purchased through the Wii Shop Channel and can be downloaded to the system memory or to an SD card for additional storage.  The tracks stream directly from the SD card for seamless play.

There are now more than 835 tracks available to date via disc and download purchase (complete list of tracks at www.rockband.com/music). Rock Band continues to satisfy music fans’ and gamers’ voracious appetite for rock with more than 50 million paid downloads since its launch Nov. 20, 2007.  The Rock Band Music Store allows players to preview and purchase downloadable individual music tracks and packs from the vast selection of offerings available to date without ever leaving the game as they build their own custom Rock Band library.

Codemasters® ha anunciado hoy que la demo jugable de Colin McRae™: DiRT™2 estará hoy disponible desde el Bazar de Xbox LIVE® para el sistema de entretenimiento y videojuegos Xbox® 360 de Microsoft® y en PlayStation® Store para el sistema de entretenimiento PLAYSTATION®3.

La demo de Colin McRae: DiRT 2 incluye dos alucinantes disciplinas, ambas jugables tanto en modo individual como en multijugador online (hasta 8 vehículos).
